Noordhoek provides excellent opportunity for birdwatching. Noordhoek Valley and surrounds provide a variety of habitat, which in turn ensures a wide variety of bird species. A local Noordhoek enthusiast has a garden list of 106 species seen from his establishment and a further list of 70 species seen from the reed bed opposite. There are also pelagic (sea birds) trips from Simon's Town (approximately 10 minutes away).
